If you’re a Yale Graduate student and you’re looking around for housing options, it’s all about location. You want to find a place that’s not too far from campus so you’re not trekking across town, especially when the traffic is crazy. If you can find a place within walking or biking distance, that’s a major bonus! Most grad students live on or near campus, with some having a larger commute on their hands because they choose to call neighboring cities home.
While location is a top priority, so is safety. You want to do your homework about the neighborhood around you so that you feel safe. As you start your search, ask about the people living around there. Are there other grad or undergrad students around? You don’t want your housing choice to make you socially isolated either. It’s always a bonus if other students are bouncing around. It creates a better vibe, plus there’s a good chance you’ll meet new people.
So here’s your little checklist as you search for graduate housing:
- Location
- Safety
- Strong Sense of Community
Keeping all of those things in mind, check out this list of graduate housing options we’ve compiled for you.
