1. Brunch

Many moms love a good brunch, and New Haven has some good choices. Anthony’s Ocean View and Amarante’s Sea Cliff offer Mother’s Day brunch buffets. Reservations are required at both, so make sure to call ahead and book a spot.

Other places like Bella’s Cafe and Union League Cafe also serve delicious brunch. Take a look at the menus and see which place would be the best fit for your Mom.

2. Take a Hike or a Walk

If your Mom is the outdoorsy type, take her for a hike at East Rock Park in New Haven. You can choose to walk up the path or take advantage of the automobile road that is open from April to November. East Rock Park has an excellent view of the city and is a great place to walk, hike, and have a picnic.

4. Dinner

5. Wooster Square

Wooster Square is another beautiful area in the Elm City to take a walk and check out the surroundings. Nearby Wooster Street is known for its famous pizza spots like Sally’s and Pepe’s. You can also visit Libby’s Pastry Shop for dessert. This is a lovely area for a stroll and to take in the scenery.

6. Lighthouse Point Park

Lighthouse Point Park is another popular outdoor spot in New Haven. Take a drive through the park or walk along the sand. It’s a nice place to take in the views of Long Island Sound and just relax. The park is also home to a working carousel. Although there were once more than 10,000 working carousels in the 1920s, The Lighthouse Park Carousel is one of less than 100 that are still in use today. For a small fee, you can ride on one of the 72 mounted figures. Let your Mom be a kid at heart with this fun treat!

This is a smaller theater than some of the ones you’ll find at the mall, but it’s still a great place to watch the latest movies and enjoy the concessions.
