From Yale University to a foodie’s dream trip, there are many reasons visitors flock to New Haven every year. The best way to enjoy this vibrant city is by staying in a great hotel just moments from all the action. If you’ve got family or friends coming to visit, we definitely recommend checking out these five fabulous hotels with perfect locations, reasonable prices and luxurious décor.

1. New Haven Hotel

Situated on George Street, the affordable New Haven Hotel is in a vibrant part of the city with great restaurants and bars just a few steps away. It is also a quick 5-minute walk to Yale’s campus and the independent boutique retailers along Chapel Street.

Alongside comfy beds and great views, New Haven Hotel offers on-site parking and provides free Wi-Fi. Breakfast is available but we would recommend walking around the corner and up College Street to Claire’s Corner Copia by the green for a treat before exploring Yale’s glorious campus.

2. Omni New Haven Hotel

Also in the downtown hub is the Omni which has an impressive 19th floor panoramic restaurant with views overlooking the green and Yale University. Even if your guests don’t stay at Omni, the restaurant makes for a great breakfast or dinner location.

As far as guest rooms and suites go, Omni has newly renovated them for a fresh, modern look. It is also a pet friendly hotel, so you can bring your furry friend and enjoy walking around New Haven Green.

3. The Blake Hotel

Just down the road from New Haven Hotel is The Blake Hotel, known for its stylish rooms and stunning rooftop restaurant and bar. This hotel is a great option for those looking to enjoy the best the city has to offer. From beautifully furnished suites with useful kitchenettes to the central location, the Blake has it all. It’s a 2 minute walk from New Haven Towers so it’s an excellent choice if your guests want to be near any of our residents.

A highlight of the Blake and the whole of Downtown New Haven is the High George Rooftop Bar, a popular location for Yalies and visitors alike. We definitely recommend reserving a spot in advance for breakfast and bellinis, or dinner and desserts.

4. Graduate New Haven

For a quirky, one-of-a-kind trip, stay at Graduate New Haven. This classy space also celebrates its impressive history through antiques and maintaining the buildings character dating back to the 19th century. Although traditional in some sense, this hotel is fully updated with its amenities.

Another bonus for this hotel is their complimentary bike rental service. Why not take your guests for a ride around Yale’s Campus and over to the Farmington Canal Trail?

5. The Study at Yale

A few doors down from Graduate New Haven is another impressive hotel. The Study at Yale is a campus hotel with a modern restaurant and stunning views over the downtown area. From the moment to step into this hotel, you’ll feel the relaxed getaway vibe with its comfy armchairs, bookshelves and café.

As well as being right next to Yale’s art museums, theatres and cultural hubs, guests of this hotel can tour the Aisling Gallery which hosts Yale Student exhibitions. Your visitors will get a true Yale experience staying at this hotel.

If they stay in one of these five hotels, your guests will be booking their next visit before they’ve even left campus! Be sure to show them all the sights, check out New Haven’s independent shops on Orange Street and Chapel Street, the delicious restaurants along Crown, College and Temple Street and enjoy New Haven from a rooftop bar or two.
